Substations in Bangladesh: cost, rules, installation
An 11/0.4 kV substation takes the utility's high-voltage supply and turns it into the 400/230 V your building or factory uses. We design, supply, install and get it approved.

What a substation includes
HT switchgear
VCB or ring main unit to switch and protect the 11 kV side.
Transformer
Oil-immersed or dry-type, sized to your demand.
LT panel (PCC/MDB)
Main breaker and outgoing feeders to each floor or section.
Power factor correction
PFI or APFC panel to keep power factor up and bills down.
Cables and trays
HT and LT cables sized for current and fault level.
Earthing and safety
Earth pits, rubber mats, barriers, fire extinguisher and signage.
Does your building need its own substation?
Whether your building needs its own substation depends on load; we check it at survey.

Outdoor
Pole-mounted or plinth-mounted in a fenced yard. Lower civil cost where you have space.
Indoor room
A ventilated ground-floor room, common in Dhaka buildings. Needs fire safety and cable trenches.
Compact substation
HT, transformer and LT in one enclosure. Fast to install on tight sites.

Frequently asked questions
When does a building need its own substation?
It depends on the building's load. We calculate your demand at the survey and tell you whether you need your own substation.
Indoor or outdoor substation: which is better?
Outdoor is usually cheaper if you have space. Indoor rooms suit city buildings with no spare land, but need ventilation, cable trenches and fire safety. Compact substations save space on tight sites.
How long does a substation take?
It depends on equipment lead time, civil work and approvals. Your written quote includes a dated schedule.
